FINDING PAWS cannot guarantee return of your lost pet. We offer our services as only one part of your overall efforts to find your missing family member. Please see Missing Pet Partnership for more information on Ethics in the Lost Pet Services industry.
TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS
FREE initial basic telephone consultation and evaluation of your particular situation with advice based on general dog/cat behavior.
$75 for intensive, individualized consultation, with pet profiling, development of search strategy, map analysis, education on lost animal behavior, instructions on the most likely methods of retrieval, and flyer creation. Includes internet checks to shelter websites, lost pet websites, and some rescue group sites.
INTENSIVE, ON-SITE SEARCHES
75 cents/mile round trip from Crockett, CA 94525 (near Vallejo). (If the travel costs are too much for your budget, it might be possible to combine searches on the same day with someone else in your area. Give us a call to find out what we have scheduled where.) $75 for the first hour, then $40 for each additional hour.
If you have friends or neighbors who want to have their pets microchipped in their homes (near your house) on the same day as your search, you will get $2 credit for each pet referred.
This service is available anywhere in Northern California, from Fresno to the Oregon border.
FINDING PAWS offers Avid microchipping for $40 for the first pet in the household and then $30 for each additional pet chipped on the same day. This includes registration with PETtrac (R), Avid's pet database. We offer microchipping in your home, at many local events, or wherever you happen to find us!
NOTE: There has been some concern recently about microchips causing cancer. The tumors which were found were in 1% of a group of lab-mice which had been specifically bred to be prone to cancer. The materials used in microchips are inert in the same way that a rod placed on a broken bone is inert. There is always a chance that the body will react to something foreign, but the risks of your pet being euthanized in a shelter after being lost is MUCH greater than the chance of your pet getting cancer from a microchip.
DIRECT MAILINGS
The difference between doing direct mailings (postcards via USPS) through FINDING PAWS vs. other services, is that we can fine-tune your mailing list to end up saving you quite a bit of money. You don't need to send to every address in a zip code--for a lost cat you might be able to get away with 6 - 8 square blocks, and for a lost dog 0.5 - 1 mile.
Standard sized, white, double-sided postcards with color printing cost 56 cents each, inclusive of printing, postage, and mailing list.
POSTERS AND FLYERS
Many varieties of posters/flyers are available, as well as posting and door-to-door services. Each package is individualized and price varies depending on the entire package.

FREE SERVICES
FINDING PAWS offers many free or reduced fee services to the elderly and disabled, as well as to owners of service dogs, police dogs, and SAR dogs and Pet Rescue groups. Services depend on scheduling and availability of volunteers. Call for more info!
